My body confuses me...

My body confuses me. I did absolutely nothing last week in regards to counting points, exercising, etc. I tried to watch what I ate but if I was in the mood for something I ate it. I ate when I was hungry and probably sometimes when I really wasn't. There were days when I was ravenous, and would end up having a burger for lunch. Oh yeah, that reminds me I was craving beef last week. I had a couple of burgers. I even had fast food twice. So definitely not my typical on the wagon week. The funny thing is, I lost weight. I lost 2.4 lbs. It makes absolutely no flipping sense to me. Unless of course, maybe my new thyroid meds or the Topomax is working?

I am finally biting the bullet and heading to a WW meeting tonight. I am going to go for as long as I can financially afford to do so.

Maybe it is the meds - you never know! Now, if you did that well on an "off" week imagine what it could be on an "on" week?

Good for you for WW! I know they have online stuff now that is cheaper than face-to-face meetings. Would/could that be more affordable?

That's great news; here's hoping it's the meds. Are you feeling as though you have more energy?

OMG, I've been craving burgers too! Craziness! I finally indulged over the weekend =)

Maybe your meds are kicking in. Do you feel like you have more energy? When I first started the thyroid meds, I felt they gave me energy. Not crazy energy like on fat burners or anything... I just wasn't as sleepy as I always was.

Good Luck at WW!! Hope it goes well.

Great. Go on an weigh in and stay for the meeting. I WI tonight and I'm not looking forward to it. I celebrated my birthday a little to much I think. Maybe I'll be surprised. Hang in there.

I'll be cheering you on!!

I do understand the body being confusing but I think it has to do with calorie cycling. Sometimes a week of whatever dieting ends up making you gain, other times it makes you lose and I just think it depends on what you've done in weeks prior if that makes sense.

Hi, new commenter here. Sounds like you were eating intuitively and giving your body what it needed without going overboard and your body rewarded you. Congratulations.

I've had thyroid problems (until a surgeon whipped it out) and it makes SUCH a difference when your levels are normal. I put on 50kg (110lbs for all you non-metric) when I was extremely hypo-thyroid and lost weight like a Biggest Loser contestant - ie. 10lbs a week for weeks - when I had high thyroid levels. It can be really frustrating to be a human yo-yo like that. Good luck!

Sounds like the new meds may just be kicking in, wouldn't that be nice.

Hope you and Ike don't get too personal...I'll be thinking of you as I watch on TV from the other side of the states.

And as for a challenge, keep me posted if you decide to do anything, I'd be up for something. I need to get a little motivation back.

It IS confusing, isn't it? All I know is I'm having a burger for lunch! :)

Keep sticking with it and you'll see even more success.
